File import workspace

Import a spreadsheet column

Choose the sheet and column that contains your barcode values. Your file stays in this browser.

How to use Barcode from Excel

Move from a spreadsheet column to generated barcode files in four clear steps.

1

Upload your file

Choose an Excel or CSV file from your device.

2

Select your barcode column

Choose the sheet and column containing barcode values.

3

Review validation

Fix invalid values before generating files.

4

Generate and download

Create valid barcodes and save them individually or as a ZIP.

Why this tool helps

Use spreadsheet data directly without rebuilding your barcode values in a separate manual list.

Spreadsheet workflows

Bring product identifiers from an existing spreadsheet into a focused barcode workflow.

Column mapping

Choose exactly which column supplies the barcode values—no accidental guessing.

Row-level validation

Review valid and invalid values before any barcode graphics are generated.

Batch ZIP export

Save every successfully generated SVG or PNG in one organized archive.

File & batch rules

Keep imports, validation, and downloaded output straightforward and visible.

Excel & CSV

Import .xlsx and .csv files that are no larger than 10 MB.

Up to 100 values

A larger data set is shown clearly and must be reduced before generation.

One type per batch

Use one Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, or ITF-14 type for the selected column.

Clean outputs

Empty cells are ignored; invalid rows are excluded from downloaded ZIP files.

Barcode from Excel creates barcode graphics from a single spreadsheet column. It processes files only in your browser, does not upload spreadsheets to Barlora, and does not issue GTINs, assign GS1 company prefixes, or guarantee marketplace or retailer acceptance.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers about file import, column mapping, barcode values, privacy, and downloads.

Can I generate barcodes from Excel?

Yes. Upload an .xlsx file, choose the sheet and barcode column, then validate and generate up to 100 barcode values.

Which file formats are supported?

Barcode from Excel V1 accepts .xlsx and .csv files. Files are processed locally in your browser.

Which spreadsheet column is used?

You choose the source column yourself. Barlora may suggest common names such as Barcode, SKU, UPC, EAN, GTIN, or Product Code, but you can change it.

How many rows can I process?

The file may contain data to preview, but generation is limited to a maximum of 100 data rows per batch. Larger imports are not silently shortened.

Are my files uploaded?

No. File parsing, validation, barcode generation, and ZIP creation happen locally in your browser.

What happens to invalid rows?

Invalid values remain visible with their row-level error and are excluded. Valid rows can still be generated and added to the ZIP.

How do I preserve leading zeros?

Store UPC, EAN, and other identifiers as text in your spreadsheet when leading zeros matter. Numeric spreadsheet cells can lose zeros before import.

Can I download all valid barcodes as a ZIP?

Yes. Generate the valid rows, then create one ZIP containing their SVG or PNG files with unique filenames.
